Yellow Jacket Sports Update: The RRHS Football season begins Monday, March 8th at 6:30 pm at Historic Hoyle Field. Interested in watching the games in person? Season passes will be sold tonight at the RRHS Gym from 7-8 p.m. The passes are $24 each and will get you into all 3 home games this year. With limited spectator capacity, this is your only way to guarantee a spot in the bleachers. Each pass allows entrance for one fan per game and is transferable from one game to the next. Cash and checks made out to RRHS will be accepted. Please share with your friends who may be interested. Also, please plan to arrive one hour early to all games as each guest will need to be screened and temperate checked. #KidsAreOurCustomers #JacketSports

The RRHS Girl's basketball team won the Northern Carolina Conference Championship last week and qualified for the NCHSAA 2A Girl's Basketball playoffs. We will host St. Pauls in the 1st round on Tuesday, February 23 at 6pm at the RRHS Gym. Sports Schedule Changes: The soccer game vs. Granville Central has been postponed. A makeup date will be announced as soon as possible. There will be no JV Basketball game tonight vs. Bunn. The Varsity Girls game will start at 5 p.m. followed by our Senior Night Recognition and then the Varsity Boys game. #JacketPride

RRHS Students: We will be conducting a poll in our virtual classrooms beginning tomorrow to determine who plans to return to in-person instruction and the number of students wishing to remain virtual. Please make sure your teachers know your intentions for the remainder of this school year. The Regional Cross Country Meet was this morning in Raleigh at Wake Med Soccer Park. Our girls finished 3rd qualifying them for the State Meet this Friday in Kernersville. Our boys finished 5th. Way to go Jackets! #JacketPride #KidsAreOurCustomers

RRHS Students: Please remember we will be operating on a new virtual schedule beginning Jan 6. You will have all four periods five days a week. It is expected for all students to attend each live session. Beginning Jan. 19, we will offer Jacket Time. You will be able to sign up for tutorials and clubs from 2:00-3:30 daily. When you come on campus, screening questions and temperature checks will be conducted. It is also required that you wear a mask the entire time you are on campus. Below is the new schedule. Our NFHS Network cameras were installed today at both the RRHS Gym and Hoyle Field. RRGSD will be joining other schools in the Northern Carolina Athletic Conference and across the state offering both live stream and on demand video of athletic events. RRHS will begin with volleyball, basketball, soccer, football, and wrestling with hopes of expanding to other events in future years. Testing begins next week at Roanoke Rapids High School. This includes both teacher-made and state end-of-course (EOC) tests. Per state requirements, state tests (EOCs and CTE assessments) must be taken on campus. State mandated safety protocols will be in place including daily screening and temperature checks. Additionally, transportation and meals will be provided. We're excited to unveil our new RRHS Yellow Jacket Football uniforms. The black jersey with gold pants will be our home attire while the white will be used for away games. We're also returning to one of the original Double R's this year on our helmets with the iconic Yellow Jacket mascot. Who is ready for some football? RRHS Cheer tryouts will be held on Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19 from 6pm to 8pm in the RRHS Armory. These tryouts will be for anyone wishing to tryout for the Basketball and/or Football Cheer seasons. To be able to tryout you must have a current physical and all other forms completed to be turned in to Coach Connell before the first tryout.
