Chaloner Chromebook Update: Due to the threat of rain Thursday and Friday, we may not be able to come to your car and deliver your child's chromebook. If it is raining, please park in the school parking lot and walk up to the gymnasium to pick up the laptop. Please make sure you are wearing a mask. Immunization Reminder: Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 7th Grade students are required to have updated immunizations prior to starting school on August 17th even though we are beginning the year virtually. Additionally, rising Seniors are now required to have the meningococcal (Menactra) vaccine. September 15th is the deadline to submit your child’s records to their respective school nurse. This is especially important because when we do return to in-person instruction, they will not be allowed to return without the proper documentation. Appointments may be made with the Halifax County Health Department or your child's pediatrician. #KidsAreOurCustomer #BackToSchool

Chromebook Pick Up is This Thursday! Each family will be asked to remain in their cars, while entering the school from Jullian Allsbrook. Staff will bring all required paperwork to cars for signing and devices will be given. We ask that masks be worn throughout the process, everyone remain in vehicles, and be prepared with an ink pen to sign all agreements. Families are asked to report by the students' last name as follows: A-G 11am till 1pm H-O 1pm till 3pm P-Z 3pm till 5pm If you are unable to attend during your scheduled time, please drive through on Friday between 9am till 3pm. Once you arrive home please have your student login to their chromebooks and RRGSD gmail accounts to begin the virtual orientation process. Make sure your student accepts each 20-21 google classroom invitation to prepare them for virtual instruction to begin Monday August 17th. #KidsAreOurCustomers

Calling all area civic, church, and community volunteers with sewing skills...we have a goal of collecting 5,000 masks for use at our schools. If you are willing to donate, please email us. They will need to be individually packaged student-sized masks for all grades. #KidsAreOurCustomers

Chaloner Parents: This is one last attempt to collect money owed for lunch at Chaloner Middle School. If your child paid full price or received reduced lunch, please make sure the balance has been paid. You may pay the balance online or stop by the main office of the school, Monday- Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Remember, the CMS handbook states a student may not participate in extracurricular activities if there is a balance. We genuinely appreciate your cooperation in helping us with this matter. #KidsAreOurCustomers

Parents: The City of Roanoke Rapids is offering 100 scholarships to 4-H Camp this summer in Halifax. If you’re in need and are interested in one of the four camps for your child (CSI, Safari, Outdoor Adventure, and Space camp), call 252-583-5161 for an application and additional information. Be sure to include the code: “CityofRR” at the top of your application. Camps begin June 29 and run through July 24 and are open to those ages 6 to 14. Due to state guidelines, you must provide your own transportation.

We are excited to announce that the Chaloner Middle School yearbook signing tradition is alive and it’s fully digital to suit our socially distanced students. Jostens has just launched a new platform, Yearbook Digital Signing Pages, that gives every student in our school the chance to create virtual signing pages, invite their friends to leave messages, and print out the final pages to keep with the yearbook as a permanent keepsake.
