Today we launched our new mentorship program at Chaloner Middle School called Bridge Builders. These local professionals have all agreed to mentor some of our students beginning in January. Our Backpack Buddies program sends food home on the weekends and during the holidays for students in need. We're running low on canned pasta, ramen noodles, fruit cups, and breakfast/snack bars. Items can be delivered to Chaloner during regular school hours. #TogetherWeSucceed
Reminder: Our Chaloner Night of the Arts is this Thursday, December 2 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The night will include an art show, chorus & band concert, plus Book Fair. #TogetherWeSucceed
You’ve heard about DNA, but have you ever seen it with your own eyes? In our cool Strawberry DNA Experiment, students extracted, isolated, and observed the DNA of a strawberry in a matter of minutes. #Science Fun #TogetherWeSucceed
The administrative team at Chaloner Middle School hosted an "Apple Bar" today to show gratitude for our staff. Both delicious red and green apples were accompanied by warm caramel, white and dark chocolate, fudge, marshmallows, chocolate chips, nuts, sprinkles, and peanut butter packs. Students in Mrs. Rideout's 8th Grade Visual Arts class finished their unit on American artist Wayne Thiebaud. They learned about his life in the United States Air Force working as an artist as well as his popular dessert paintings and how they came into existence. They learned how to draw cakes based on the Element of Art: Form. They put their creativity to the test to create cakes, cupcakes and doughnuts for "Rideout's Bakery". To end the unit Mrs. Rideout treated them with real desserts to enjoy! #RRGSDProud #ArtsInEducation
