RRGSD ALERT: Roanoke Rapids Graded School District will close 2 hours early on Wednesday, Sept 12, 2018. This decision is being made to allow our staff time to secure our campuses for the potential inclement weather. Once students are accounted for, staff will be dismissed as well. There will be NO after school activities including Place to Play. RRGSD will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 for students and staff. Thanks to Mrs. Pearson and the Woodmen of the World for the generous donations to our Chaloner Middle School Book Bag Buddies food program. This program is entirely supported by donations and provides snacks to students in need. If you or your organization would like to donate, please contact Chaloner. Last year we fed more than 50 students weekly. #KidsAreOurCustomers

Parents: Students going into sixth grade will all take Math 6 this year. Students going into seventh grade will all take Math 7 this year. Eighth grade parents received a letter indicating their student would be placed into Math 1 this year if their student scored a Level 5 on the Math 7 EOG test. All other eighth grade students will take Math 8 this year. Lastly, eighth grade parents who wish to request a different math placement need to fill out the administrative request form and turn it in at Chaloner or the Central Office by Friday, August 17. Please call Chaloner with questions.

What can we do better to serve our customers? Chaloner administrators went on a “listen and learn tour” across the district today to get feedback from our students and their families. Looking forward to a great school year! #KidsAreOurCustomers
