The Roanoke Rapids Early College has extended its deadline for rising freshman applications to Friday, February 11, 2022. An 8th-grade student/family information session will also be held Thursday, February 03, 2022 at the RRHS Cafeteria from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. #EarlyCollege #TogetherWeSucceed


We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of HCC President Dr. Michael Elam. Dr. Elam was always supportive of our district. He was actively involved in our Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Advisory Council, Business Advisory Council, worked with us to increase community college offerings for RRHS students, and was instrumental in helping us open Roanoke Rapids Early College High School. On behalf of our RRGSD family, including our Board of Trustees, I want to send my deepest condolences today to his family and the entire HCC family. Today our RRECHS reenacted the trial scene in the literary classic To Kill a Mockingbird. Great experience for our scholars to get a better understanding of the characters and comprehension of the text. #TogetherWeSucceed

RRECHS Scholar Taniya Moody was awarded a $200 scholarship today from HCC's Foundation. The scholarship can be used for supplies or other items to improve her educational experience at HCC. Congratulations Taniya! RRECHS is recognizing National HBCU Week. It celebrates a group of colleges and universities that are classified by the U.S. Government as Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
There are currently more than 100 HBCUs in 19 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands educating nearly 300,000 enrolled students. Ten of those are in North Carolina and 5 in Virginia. #TogetherWeSucceed
