Calendar Change Alert: On Friday, November 12, RRGSD will have more unfilled teacher and bus driver absences than we can cover with our available pool of substitutes or with creative in-district solutions. Therefore, we are making November 12, 2021 an optional Teacher Work Day. School will be closed for students both November 11th for the Veterans Day Holiday and Friday, November 12, 2021. We hope our students and staff will use this time to refresh themselves prior to testing and the many other end of semester activities that will be ramping up later in November and December. #TogetherWeSucceed

The RRGSD community and beyond are grieving the loss of one of our Belmont students, Jihad Kee who died suddenly last week.
A public viewing will be Friday, October 29 from 5 to 7 at Cofield Mortuary in Weldon. A graveside service will be this Saturday, October 30 at 1 p.m. at Phillips Cemetery, Park Street in Seaboard, NC.

RRGSD Families: Friday, October 8, 2021 will now be a Teacher Workday to allow our students and staff an opportunity to attend the funeral of Chaloner 6th grader Brett Peterson. Brett’s funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Askew Funeral Service in Roanoke Rapids with a Graveside Service on family land outside of Roanoke Rapids. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 7 until 8:30pm at Askew Funeral Service. We encourage our community to lean on each other as we remember and celebrate Brett’s life and continue to keep his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.
