Nineteen students from the RRHS Chapter of SkillsUSA competed this week at the NC SkillsUSA Leadership & Skills Conference in Greensboro with tremendous success. The individual and team awards included three 5th place, three 4th place, three 2nd place, and four 1st place awards. In addition, Meghan Beam, Meagan Beales, and Madison Foster finished 1st place in the Crime Scene Investigation contest, which qualifies them to attend the National SkillsUSA Conference in Atlanta, GA in June. Meghan Beam, Madison Foster, Alex Clark, and Mary Brown were awarded the Outstanding Chapter Member Award. Alex Clark received the Adam J Thompson award, which is awarded to one member in North Carolina for going above and beyond to promote SkillsUSA through community service throughout their time in SkillsUSA. The Chapter also received the Bronze level Chapter of Excellence award. Please help us in congratulating our students! #TogetherWeSucceed #JacketProud

Pre-K scholars in Mrs. Clements class have been reading a book about camping. While some have camped in a tent, they were curious about the workings of a camper and tasting s’mores. Thanks to Clements Mechanical and Rose & Richard Pait for providing campers and bringing learning to life this week for our students. #RRGSDCommunity #TogetherWeSucceed

Superintendent Thompson’s Listening & Learning Tour wrapped up this week with feedback from our middle and high school students. What better way to learn about fractions than to divide up a pizza. Students in Ms. Garner's class at Belmont completed a project based learning unit on fractions using their own paper made pizzas. They wrapped up the week by eating some "real pizza" to celebrate their hard work. #TogetherWeSucceed

Thanks to the “Feed a Family” program for donating food and snacks for our students over Spring Break. First United Methodist Church of RR partnered with the District several years ago and has invited area churches, community organizations, and individuals to join them in raising funds to feed families in need in our school community. #togetherwesucceed #rrgsdcommunity

We appreciate Halifax County EMS staff for bringing over the county’s new ambulance today for some hands on learning with our EMS students. This was a great opportunity for our students especially those planning to pursue a career in the field of emergency services. #CTE #TogetherWeSucceed
