RRGSD Alert: Due to the sudden storm surge, several power outages and fallen trees have been reported. We will now operate on a 2-hour delay for students and staff with an option to close. This will give our staff time to assess our campuses in the morning. Sports Update: Due to an NCHSAA rule dealing with football players missing 5 or more consecutive school days of practice and needing 3 practices to be able to play in a game, we will not be playing Vance County in football (JV or Varsity) this week. Vance County fits into this rule. We will host Vance County for a Varsity Football game on Monday 9/24 at 7pm. The JV game is indefinitely postponed at this time. Thanks for your support. Parents: RRGSD Trustees adopted a tentative plan tonight to make up the two days missed last week due to Hurricane Florence. Board members agreed to forgive one day and make up the other day on Oct 12th for Roanoke Rapids Early College High School and Oct 22nd for all other students. #KidsAreOurCustomers

RRGSD ALERT: The air conditioning has been restored. Manning Elementary will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow Tuesday, September 18, 2018. —- El aire acondicionado ha sido reparado. La escuela primaria de Manning operara mañana con horario regular.

RRGSD Alert: We currently have no air at Manning Elementary School. We have yet to get confirmation of when this will be fixed. For safety purposes we will be dismissing Manning Elementary at 9 a.m.

RRGSD ALERT: Roanoke Rapids Graded School District will close 2 hours early on Wednesday, Sept 12, 2018. This decision is being made to allow our staff time to secure our campuses for the potential inclement weather. Once students are accounted for, staff will be dismissed as well. There will be NO after school activities including Place to Play. RRGSD will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 for students and staff. Parents: As you know by now Hurricane Florence is on track to impact the coast of North Carolina and we could also experience heavy rains and high winds as the storm makes its away across the state. As in past hurricanes, we have experienced downed trees, flooding, and the loss of power. As a school district we will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed regarding possible school closure later this week. STOP— Now is the time to get prepared! Make sure your family has a three day supply of water, food you can prepare without electricity, and other emergency supplies including any medication you and your family may need. Shelters may also be opening later this week in Roanoke Rapids. We will keep you informed once those open. Once again - As a school district we will continue to monitor Hurricane Florence and keep you informed regarding possible school closure later this week. ------ A la mejor ya saben que el huracán Florence esta en camino a impactar el estado de Carolina de Norte. Podemos tener lluvias fuertes y viento fuerte mientras que la tormenta pasa por el estado. En el pasado cuando hay un huracán, arboles se tumban, hay hundaciones, y se va la electricidad.
