It's been a busy few weeks for our RR Early College Scholars. For the first time our senior participated in the NC Countdown to College . Activities during the month supported high school seniors in completing three important college enrollment steps: residency, FAFSA, and applications.
Our Roanoke Rapids Early College students were busy with these college activities this month:
• Approximately 43% of our Seniors have submitted their 2021-22 Free
• Application for Federal Student Aid during the month of October.
• Approximately 36% of our Seniors completed residency determination during the month of October.
• Approximately 15 of our Seniors submitted over 51 college applications during the month of October.

We're happy to have these new faces in our classrooms at Manning Elementary. After attending ECU, Ms. Rightmyer has returned to teach in her hometown. Ms. Jones is our new EC Teacher and resident horticulturist. Be sure to ask her about her flower garden. Ms. Myrick has been with RRGSD for 6 years as a Teacher Assistant. Thanks to our students and their families for being vigilant by wearing your mask when you enter campus. We’re also appreciative of the parents who are doing the right thing every day by monitoring their children for symptoms, seeking medical assistance and testing when children show symptoms, and notifying us. Exciting news for our students and families! The USDA has extended the free meals for all children throughout this school year. This move is part of USDA's commitment to ensuring all children across America have access to nutritious food as the nation recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meals are served at Belmont & Manning Monday-Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Students who are attending face-to-face instruction can receive a free breakfast and lunch at their school site. #KidsAreOurCustomers #USDAFreeMeals
