ROANOKE RAPIDS GRADED SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES
DECEMBER 15, 2020 REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING
The December 15, 2020 Roanoke Rapids Graded School District (RRGSD) Board of Trustees regular business meeting will be held remotely and electronically to honor social distancing requirements related to the coronavirus pandemic. RRGSD is committed to providing opportunities for members of the public to view/listen to the meeting and to submit public comments in ways that resemble as closely as possible the normal processes for in-person public meetings.
View/Listen to the Regular Business Meeting
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Members of the public can view or listen to all public portions of the meeting – the public will not be able to view or listen to closed session:
- View a live video stream of the meeting with any web browser via our RRGSD Public Information YouTube channel located at www.youtube.com/channel/UCYHTegFfrwBuo0UJPSkTEiQ.
Public Comment
The public comment portion of the meeting will be held after the completion of the business listed before it on the agenda. Members of the public will have the opportunity to submit public comments in one of two ways: (1) call Central Services and leave your comments via voicemail message (3-minute maximum), if approved, your comments will be read during the public comment portion of the meeting and broadcast live on the video/audio feed; or (2) submit a written comment by Google Form during the designated time period. Each person is limited to one public comment, based on prior approval by administration, whether written or spoken, per meeting. Please have name and phone number on written or voicemail requests.
In Writing and/or Voicemail: Citizens who wish to provide public comments in writing or voicemail will be read aloud by board chair during the public comment portion of the meeting and will have two options to submit them in advance:
- Submit them in writing via Google Form at https://forms.gle/afNZND9nMgM7... before 5:00 on Friday, the 11th of December 2020. Written comments will be provided to Board members. Each written comment will be limited to 400 words.
- Submit them via voicemail by dialing (252) 519-7100 before 5:00 on Friday, the 11th of December 2020. Please state your name, the phone number we can reach you at, and your comment that is no more than three minutes in length. These comments are also subject to approval by administration.
Rules of Order and Decorum
All of the Board’s normal rules of order and decorum for public address apply to comments submitted by telephone or in writing. The Chair may rule written comments out of order in the same manner as spoken comments.
